Gutter: a trough fixed under or along the eaves for draining rainwater from a roof. That’s a pretty simple definition for one of our homes’ most unsung heroes. Making sure they work effectively is key to protecting your home from water damage and all its subsequent issues, like mold for example.

Not all gutters are built alike. If your gutters were installed by a builder chances are you have standard 5″ gutters with 2″x3″ downspouts. Depending on the length of your roofline and the gutters’ condition, these do a great job. However, if you start noticing they just can’t seem to keep up we recommend replacing them with larger gutters and downspouts.

Going this route is more cost effective than you think, and will serve your home well. The added diameter from 6″ gutters and 3″x4″ downspouts makes a huge difference in effectively moving water away from your home.
